The following action alert went out today to TXARC supporters and was posted on social media. Please take action today to call Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick.
The 87th Texas legislative session ends soon and HB1386/SB1877 has not yet been scheduled for hearing in the Jurisprudence Committee. It is urgent that we all call Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and request that he bring the bill out of committee and to the Senate floor for a vote.

Please call his office today (emails are not effective) and leave a message either on the office voice mail or with the person who answers the phone. That message can be simple and should vary by your own experiences. Sample messages are below.
For Texas Residents:
I’m a Texan [adoptee/adoptive parent/birthparent] and believe adopted Texans should be treated like all other Texans. I’m asking the Lt. Governor to support bringing HB1386/SB1877 out of the Senate Jurisprudence Committee to be considered by the full Senate. Thank you for considering this legislation.
For Texas-born Adoptees (not residing in the state)
I’m a Texas-born adoptee. I should be treated like all other people, whether adopted or not adopted. I’m asking the Lt. Governor to support bringing HB1386/SB1877 out of the Senate Jurisprudence Committee to be considered by the full Senate. Thank you for considering this legislation.
