We are pleased to announce that Representative Cody Harris (R-District 8) has filed House Bill 1386 (HB1386) in the Texas House of Representatives. If enacted, HB1386 will restore the right of ALL Texas-born adoptees to obtain their original pre-adoption birth certificate at age 18, without restrictions.
TXARC and its core partners continue to work with allied advocates, including the American Adoption Congress, and long time allies within the Texas Legislature. Additionally, we are pleased to announce that we are collaborating with Support Texas Adoptee Rights (STAR). You can read our organizations’ joint statement of support for HB1386 here.
Texas is a big state, and it will take a big effort to achieve victory. That means we must all get involved. Most importantly, we need to unite around this issue in Texas. As always, we thank you for your support and we promise to keep you informed every step of the way.
