We are happy to announce the addition of Abrazo Adoption Associates as the newest TXARC Strategic Partner.
Abrazo is not new to adoptee rights advocacy in Texas. In fact, Abrazo Director Elizabeth Jurenovich has been a staunch supporter of efforts to restore adoptee equality in Texas for many years. Elizabeth has provided powerful testimony in previous sessions, and her unwavering support is seen and felt throughout her work as an adoption professional and her relationship with the adoptee community.
Having been a Texas-licensed adoption agency for 29 years, it seems inconceivable that the same state that charges all adoption agencies with looking out for the “best interests of children” neglects to ensure adult adopted persons best-interest rights to access their own original birth records. But it has, and it does. For this reason Abrazo Adoption Associates is proud to join forces with the Texas Adoptee Rights Coalition, in an effort to bring about much-needed legislative change on behalf of Texas adoptees, and all the birthparents and adoptive parents that support their right to have the same access to their original birth records as all other Texans.

The Texas Adoptee Rights Coalition is a coalition of Texas and national organizations working to secure the right of all Texas adult adoptees to obtain their own original birth certificates, without discriminatory restrictions.
